Season Nine continues to build on the headline features introduced in Season Seven, offering a variety of exciting new additions and improvements for captains and legends alike. Among the standout elements are the Voyages for Pirate Legends, particularly the quest for the enigmatic Skull of Destiny. Additionally, enhancements to Logbooks and interactions with the Sovereigns are noteworthy aspects of this season.
Search for the Skull of Destiny
One of the season’s most prominent features is the exclusive Voyage for Pirate Legends, which allows them to obtain the elusive Skull of Destiny. This valuable item can now be acquired either from shipwrights or directly from the Pirate Lord himself. Pirate Legends embarking on this adventure will be equipped with the Wayfinder of Legends Compass, an invaluable tool for guiding their crew towards the mysterious Skull of Destiny.
The Skull of Destiny is no ordinary treasure; it possesses the radiant Flames of Fate and can cycle through six different colored flames. Crews in possession of this mystical skull can utilize it to illuminate all the statues at the Fort of the Damned, initiating the challenging Fort of the Damned event.
The Legendary Search for Cursed Treasure
Another exclusive Voyage designed specifically for Pirate Legends involves testing crews’ sailing skills while they hunt for accursed treasure. Along the way, players may come across various cursed treasures, including the Chest of Boundless Sorrow. This particular chest offers more substantial gold rewards but never ceases to weep, serving as a true test of coordination and teamwork for any crew.
Venturing on this perilous Voyage promises rich rewards in the form of cursed loot, and there’s even a chance to uncover a legendary Chest of Legends amid the treasure trove.
Black Powder Stashes
Pirate Legends can now embark on explosive new Voyages that lead them to nearby Skeleton Forts. Here, they will discover a cache of armaments, potentially including the volatile Keg of Ancient Black Powder. This newfound firepower allows crews to restock quickly and prepare for intense battles.
Expanded Company Voyages
Shipwrights have expanded their selection of Trading Company Voyages, granting Captains access to a broader range of adventures directly from the Captain’s Bookcase. Crews can now explore The Devil’s Roar on Ashen Voyages, plunder Vaults for the Gold Hoarders, track down Lost Shipments for the Merchants, and pursue Ghost Ships for the Order of Souls. These Voyages can be acquired as bundles from nearby shipwrights, offering more diverse gameplay experiences.
Captain’s Logbook
Captains will find their trusty Logbook has undergone significant improvements. It now meticulously records the ship’s daily endeavors, filling its pages with accounts of events encountered during voyages. At the end of each day, the Captain can immortalize the day’s achievements with a hand-drawn image capturing a memorable moment from their adventures.
In addition to this, interacting with the Captain’s Logbook now requires a press and hold action, reducing the risk of accidental usage. Logbooks retrieved from sunken ships can also be stored safely in Collector’s Chests and Merfolk Statues.
Sovereign Expansion
Captains and their crews now have the convenience of handing in their catches to the Sovereigns at the Outposts, who accept them on behalf of The Hunter’s Call. For those seeking the highest payouts, The Hunter’s Call representatives are willing to pay extra for direct deliveries to the Seaposts.
Captain’s Supply and Voyage Shop Improvements
Browsing the exclusive services offered by shipwrights has been made more accessible with the introduction of a categorized menu. This allows captains to quickly access the Voyages or supplies they require.
Milestone Notifications
Players now have the option to disable both Pirate and Ship Milestone notifications via the Settings Menu, offering more control over the information they receive during their adventures on the high seas.
